hello, I'm Nancy

portrait Photographer

I've had an interest in photography for as long as I can remember. What started as a personal journey to capture memories of my family has broadened into something much more challenging and fulfilling. Through much persuasion of friends and family, I launched NB Photography in the fall of 2012 and it's been a whirlwind ever since!

I have poured my heart and soul into my work; I am a self-taught photographer, Lightroom, and Photoshop user. My photography and editing style have evolved a bit over the years, but I have generally stuck to simple, organic, and pure images. I really enjoy all types of sessions from families to newborns/infants, events, and high school seniors; and of course, documenting my own family…they all bring me joy and challenges. I am forever learning, changing and growing, and of course, meeting new people – which I love!

I strive to make my time with each of my clients personal, dynamic, and fun. You could say I'm very much a people person. Check out my Info for Clients page to learn more about your time with me.

My approach

If you want fun, unique, artistic portraits, then we’ll make a great team! I want to capture images that represent you. While I do pose my subjects for some photos, I also enjoy capturing more candid images as well. Many times those images end up being some of the best and my clients' favorites.

I have a wide variety of photography experience ranging from newborns, children, and families, to engagement sessions, weddings, high school seniors, pets, career/business, and special projects including clothing and landscape.

I will coach you and your family through your photo session and help make this a fun, relaxing experience. I welcome the challenge of running toddlers and quiet teenagers. Seriously!

I have posted several pages of information to help guide you after booking your session as well as pricing points if you are interested in booking a session.  I typically schedule sessions a few hours before sunset or if we have to shoot mid-day, we will want to find a place out of direct sunlight.

In terms of location, I ask that you think of places that are meaningful to you, aesthetically pleasing and unique. I can always make recommendations, but sometimes my clients end up with some of the best places. Also keep in mind what kind of images you will want around your home: urban, nature, rustic, contemporary, etc.

My goal as a photographer is to provide plenty of communication through our work together, provide a fun and relaxing experience, and have you thrilled with your photos. I do take time to select those photos I feel best represent my style and do some 'behind the scenes' editing to ensure your final images are exquisite.

Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any questions!
