Top 10 of 2013

Wow!  What an amazing year 2013 has been!  I have been blessed beyond measure with people that trust me to capture their special moments and patient, loving family and friends to support me along the way.

As I posted on Facebook just yesterday, "Like any type of art, photography reflects a person's style, vision, and technical skill. There's no hiding when you make your work public. I'm very appreciative of the feedback and support I've received over the years."

This year was filled with engagements, weddings, babies, children and family portraits as well as several special assignments for local business and product sales.  I have been challenged, but in the best way possible.

Sorting through my 2013 photos and trying to pick just 10 was a very daunting and time consuming task.  Here they are, in no particular order or criteria other than they are some of my favorites.

Thanks to all of you for making 2013 my best year yet.  Cheers to 2014!

I was sitting under the kitchen table with this guy...hired to photograph his first birthday party and take a handful of family photos.  I love the innocence and inquisitiveness.  And the lighting...perfect!

One of my boys sipping on hot chocolate after playing in the snow we received on Spring Break.  Yep  - Spring Break!  My "most-pinned" photo on Pinterest with close to 300 to date.

I vividly remember walking around this family's barn and seeing this view.
AH-MAZING.  And what a perfect setting for a photo.

I remember thinking to myself when I took this photo, "Wow - how awesome it is to capture a memory like this forever?"  and then thinking, "Holy cow.  People actually trust me to do this for them."  Just beautiful!

Where do I start with this family?  I was gushing over them on my blog when I posted their photos initially and still can't say enough about them.  Beautiful setting, lighting, people.  My job couldn't have been easier.

There's nothing sweeter than a baby...and especially one in a cute hat peeking over a book.

This photo is another one of those that "just happen".  I was setting this family up to take some photos in a field and captured them talking.  One of my favorites from their session.

I find myself going back this photo when I reach for my favorite wedding photo.  I love the pose, the interaction between the bride and groom, the building.  And the memory of the whole day.  Fun!

Little boys move...a lot.  And they don't just move.  They run.  A lot.
Could it be as simple as saying his name to get his attention mid-run?  He stopped for a second and gave me a grin.

I'm a sucker for details...maybe because I'm a mom myself and I know how quickly those little details change.  Such sweet perfection.

And now for the 1st annual NB Photography Outtakes Award...drumroll please...
