To close out the year, I thought I'd share my top ten photos based on no particular criteria other than they're of clients with the exception of one. I've taken thousands of photos this year; narrowing the list down to ten was no easy feat.

The setting for this one was perfect - Missouri Botanical Gardens I love how the two older siblings are trying to grab the baby's hands to walk. So cute. |

A little snow, brick and wood background, and photogenic subjects. What's not to love? |

I lucked out this fall with several photo sessions during a prime folliage weekend. Perfect weather, beautiful colors, and great friends. |

My first senior portrait session. I love the old red barn and the perspective of this photo. |

I cheated on this one...not a client, but my sister-in-law wedding dress shopping. I love this photo. She was asking questions about how the dress would be bustled. So graceful and elegant. |

Taken in a shed on this family's farm, I love the lighting, setting, and expressions. |

My first engagement session. This couple's pictures turned out amazing. Beautiful. |
And my favorite photo is (drumroll please)...this sweet guy.

Do I need to explain why I like this one? I chased this guy around in the cold December mist. As soon as I pushed the button on my camera I remember saying, "Money shot!" |
Wait! There's more!
Technically that is the end of my top ten, but I have to share one final photo. I have to admit, this is my absolute favorite of 2012. I took this one at a baseball game during the spring. My son was wearing an old t-shirt and had been playing in the dirt, doing what boys do best.I won an award with this one in a small photography contest. I think that was when I finally started to believe I might be on to something.

Not a picture of a client, but of my youngest son. I never want to forget the details of his beautiful face. |
